The Silkies of the Donegal coast are mythical shapeshifters who shed their sealskin coats to become irresistibly enchanting sea maidens with long dark hair and beautiful voices. This fairly new Irish distillery is in Donegal, north-western Ireland. Silkie is the brand name, The Ardara is the distillery name and all are under the umbrella of Sliabh Liag Distillers.

Taste

This is a signature blend of double and triple distilled malts, with soft grain whiskey and a hint of peated malt.

Brand Tasting Notes: The nose has brisk green apples opening to a more honeyed bitterness. The taste has orange zest, digestive biscuits, and stem ginger, all with the signature softness and gentle hints of peat.
