Description
Murray McDavid was established by London wine merchants Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin, and Springbank Distillery’s Gordon Wright. They quickly gained a reputation for maturing whisky in interesting casks, especially in fine wine casks. In 2000, the Murray McDavid team set about reopening the closed Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, engaging the services of Jim McEwan, an icon on Islay. In 2012, Remy Cointreau purchased Bruichladdich Distillery and Murray McDavid. Later, Murray McDavid was sold to its current owners. Today, the home of Murray McDavid is Coleburn Distillery in Speyside.

Notes from the Brand: The Isle of Mull is home to one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, traditionally producing small amounts of single malt, preparing their barley by drying it with peat smoke.
Brand Tasting Notes: The nose has toffee apple, beach fire, and oily oak. The palate has salted fudge, charcoal, sweet mango and the finish has sweet smoke, malt, stone fruits.
Holly’s Tasting Notes: Lemon, cream soda and soapy, thick sweet peat. More cream on the palate with salinity, and spice on the finish.
Finished for two years in 110-litre Koval bourbon casks, this vibrant, peated malt has vigorously integrated with the vanilla-rich American oak – a dram that dances on the palate.
