Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grassroots tradition of farm distilling. Their 100% Islay range represents the revival of these traditions, standing alone as Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky. They do everything on-site, even their own maltings.
Taste
Matured in Oloroso Sherry Butts from Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin for a minimum of 9 years. Only 23 casks were selected for this release.
Brand Tasting Notes: The nose presents waves of sweet barbecue smoke and cooked fruits, accompanied by dark chocolate and dried figs. The palate has delicate peat smoke combined with honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon, and malted barley. The finish is fresh, with notes of citrus and toffee.
