Description

Distiller’s Art is a single-cask range of bottlings released by Hunter Laing. Hunter Laing was founded in Glasgow, similar to the Douglas Laing story and became their own entity in 2013. They are behind other great bottlings such as Old Malt Cask and Old & Rare. They also are the owners of the new Islay distillery, Ardnahoe.

Blair Athol is a Highland Malt that is unpeated and known for its malty and nutty qualities. Based in Pitlochry, Perthshire Scotland, most of the whisky produced at this distillery is destined for blended Scotch Whisky so we are lucky to taste it as a single malt when we can!

Taste

Brand Tasting Notes: On the nose are berries, orange peel, and vanilla. The palate has milk chocolate, strawberries, and pepper. The finish is long with spices.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Oranges, nougat, and cashews. The palate has a nice creaminess to it with oak spice, white chocolate, and more nougat. Nougat with dried fruit in it. A lovely Blair Athol.
