Description

Clydeside Distillery is of the first malt distilleries to be built in Glasgow for 40 years. Owner Morrison Glasgow Distillers has worked closely with the late distilling consultant Dr. Jim Swan to produce a ‘light but fruity spirit’ which is less grassy and malty than other Lowland malts. The distillery is in the eastern part of Glasgow overlooking the River Clyde where all of the shipping docks were. The distillery is actually in a former pumphouse of the Queen’s Dock on the River Clyde. All water for the distlllery comes from Loch Katrine.

Taste

Stobcross is taken from the Stobcross House which was built by the Anderson family in the 1600s. In 1875 the house was demolished making way for Queen’s Dock which was the heart of Glasgow’s global maritime trade. This is a tribute to them.

Brand Tasting Notes: Floral notes, fresh sweetness, and tropical fruits. On the palate are more orchard fruits and hints of white pepper.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Oranges, pears, and juicy peaches. The palate is a bit spicier with white pepper, toffee, and white chocolate. A really great, crushable sipper.
