Description

Cayéya Single Barrel Reposado Tequila is produced traditionally in San Juanito de Escobedo in Jalisco, the birthplace of the famous Mexican agave spirit. The Master Destiladora (Master Distiller) Zandra Gomez signs every bottle of their single barrels.

Taste

This Anejo is initially matured in American White Oak for 15.5 months.  Then it is transferred to a French Oak cask for an additional 2.5 months. Each release is a single barrel. This is barrel #12.

Brand Tasting Notes: As you approach the glass, an inviting aroma fills the air. The nose opens with bold notes of toasted oak and caramel, a testament to the extended aging period. The fragrance is intense, with layers of vanilla, maple syrup, and toffee, creating a luscious and enticing bouquet. Hints of dark chocolate and espresso emerge, lending a touch of decadence. The high cask strength amplifies the aromas, adding an additional depth and complexity. With the first sip, the full impact of the distillate’s prolonged interaction with the re-charred American oak becomes apparent. Rich flavors of butterscotch and dark caramel coat the palate, alongside an intense wave of toasted vanilla and charred oak. The higher alcohol content at cask strength intensifies the flavor profile, adding depth and complexity. Robust notes of dark chocolate, black cherries, and black pepper emerge, contributing to a complex and satisfying taste experience.
