Description

The name Buffalo Trace comes from the wild buffalo that led pioneers and explorers further south and west to new lands. These expeditions were called “traces,” and one called the Great Buffalo Trace crossed the Kentucky River at a spot just north of present-day Frankfort, Kentucky. Due to the area’s rich limestone, people began settling there in 1775 and growing crops. With grains, you have whiskey, and now one of the oldest distilling sites in America, Buffalo Trace Distillery.

Buffalo Trace Distillery now makes many different styles of Bourbon and Rye, including: Blanton’s Bourbon, Sazerac Rye, E.H. Taylor Bourbon, Weller Bourbon, and Eagle Rare Bourbon.

Taste

Buffalo Trace Bourbon has what they call their “low rye” mashbill, so this Bourbon is high in corn.

Brand Tasting Notes: Aromas of vanilla, mint, and molasses. Pleasantly sweet to the taste with notes of brown sugar and spice that give way to oak, toffee, dark fruit,t and anise.
