Description

Ardnamurchan is steeped in rural, coastal woods on a peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland and has stayed true to its natural roots. All the power and heat requirements for the distillery come from local renewables. They have a biomass boiler and hydroelectricity generator that are both fueled by woodchip from the local forestry. They want as little of a footprint as possible. A truly beautiful and remote distillery owned by Adelphi, the independent bottler. Ardnamurchan translates to “Headland of the Great Seas”.

Taste

US-exclusive limited edition Highland single malt whisky produced by Ardnamurchan [ARD•na•murkan] Distillery in Glenbeg, Scotland

– The third release in the ArdnAmerica Tour series (2025)
– A marriage of peated (75%) and unpeated (25%) malted barley
– The peated malt spends 3 years and 6 months in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a finish of 3 years in Sauternes barriques; unpeated malt spends 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels

Brand Tasting Notes: On the nose, notes of dried apricot, honey, and golden apple broaden into caramel and vanilla ice cream, backed by wet stone and a whisp of peat smoke. The ample palate presents malty vanilla milkshake, mild salt, and campfire, with golden apple returning along with a hint of oak. Mandarin orange ushers in more smoke and golden orchard fruit for a finish that’s simultaneously silky and robust.
