How can this be a half or a semi store pick? Well, sometimes Charles and I are presented with opportunities that we can’t pass up. We got a call that there was a small, limited release blend here in New York from Penelope. We asked if we could taste it and the next day, after a few sips, we took it in. So, I wouldn’t really call this a barrel pick but I’d like to think this release found us and we will for sure give it a good home.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Tons of creamy baking spices, clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg. A kettle and caramel popcorn type sweetness but not a heavy sweet, a lighter sweet even with some juicy red grapes and plums in there. Some buttered toast with fig jam on top. The palate continues with a rush of spice. Cinnamon and oak spice but very bright. Roasted apples with a long finish of blackberry jam on slightly burnt toast.
