Description
The name Tri Carragh is a tribute to the Gaelic phrase meaning “three pillars,” honoring the essential ingredients of whisky: water, barley, and yeast. They are a young independent bottler based in Edinburgh under the parent company name of Stravaig Spirits. The founders are Ryan McCafferty and Ola Lopatowska. They also own the brand Glenlaird Scotch Whisky and help others source and bottle their own casks of whisky. Pronounced “tree-ka-rah”.
Taste
Distilled on June 16th, 2008 | Release #6
Re-racked into a 1st fill Bourbon barrel in November 2023
Inchgower Distillery is located just outside the fishing port of Buckie and is a true coastal style of single malt. No other new make spirit seems to reach the same level of intense spiciness and salinity.
Holly’s Tasting Notes: An amazing nose with buttered popcorn, jelly beans, and lemon custard. The palate has Cheerios, lemon, lime-creamsicles, some hay, and straw on the finish.
