Description

The name Tri Carragh is a tribute to the Gaelic phrase meaning “three pillars,” honoring the essential ingredients of whisky: water, barley, and yeast. They are a young independent bottler based in Edinburgh under the parent company name of Stravaig Spirits. The founders are Ryan McCafferty and Ola Lopatowska. They also own the brand Glenlaird Scotch Whisky and help others source and bottle their own casks of whisky.

Taste

Located in the heart of Speyside, Glen Elgin distillery is celebrated for its ability to craft whiskies with a unique honeyed sweetness and delicate balance. Known as a “quiet hero” of Speyside, Glen Elgin often contributes its complex and elegant spirit to some of the finest blends. However, in this single malt release, its distinct character shines through—a beautiful combination of floral, fruity, and malty notes with a signature smoothness.

Brand Tasting Notes: The nose has dark chocolate-covered raisins, orange zest, and citrus intertwining with hints of dark treacle. A splash of water unveils tropical fruit, floral aromas of heather and lavender, and bright notes of clementines. The palate delivers warming cinnamon spice layered with treacle sweetness. Adding water brings out juicy tropical fruit flavors, balancing spice with a lush, fruity character. A long, satisfying finish with lingering notes of chocolate, treacle, and soft floral hints, leaving behind a refined complexity.
