Description
The Glenturret Distillery is in the Highland region and known for making peated and unpeated malts. They do like to claim that they are Scotland’s oldest working distillery which is for you to decide with whatever amount of research you want to put into that! They were founded in 1763 and are still quite a small operation. For many years in the modern era, the distillery was owned by Edrington who also owns Macallan, Highland Park, and Glenrothes. In 2018 they sold the distillery and the blend Famous Grouse to The Lalique Group. When visiting Glenturret you will see that it is the spiritual home for Famous Grouse. This blended Scotch Whisky is not that popular here in the USA but is huge in the UK. Lalique is now releasing small amounts of single malt from the distillery which is exciting to see and mostly sherry maturation as well!

Aged in ex-Bourbon Barrels and American & European Oak Sherry Casks.
