Although known for their unpeated Highland Malt, peat can be found in Glenturret’s distilling history – records show that The Glenturret dug peat from the moss at their water source for whisky production in the early 1800s. Today they produce a small amount of peated spirit compared to unpeated. The Glenturret 10 Years Old Peat Smoked brings together the two-spirit styles of the oldest working distillery.
Taste
The 2022 Edition is matured in both first fill and second fill European Oak and American Oak Casks.
Brand Tasting Notes: Sweet vanilla, fresh citrus, fruits, and campfire smoke. It is an understated peat though with sweetness and lemon herbert. Dry embers return for a smoky finish.
