Description

Although known for their unpeated Highland Malt, peat can be found in Glenturret’s distilling history – records show that The Glenturret dug peat from the moss at their water source for whisky production in the early 1800s. Today they produce a small amount of peated spirit compared to unpeated. The Glenturret 10 Years Old Peat Smoked brings together the two-spirit styles of the oldest working distillery.

Taste

Tasting Notes from the brand:  Smoking embers on an open beach fire. A pinch of sea salt, darker smokiness with soft warms spices, and vibrant citrus.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Lemon custard and burning embers of a nearly put-out campfire. Cooked peaches and vanilla. The palate has quite the brine with lemon-lime and peat smoke. A nice salinity on the finish with some pepper in there as well.
