Description

Single Cask Nation began as a membership society of folks who were interested in rare, fine single cask whiskies and other spirits. Now they are a top independent bottler of spirits. The founders are Joshua Hatton & Jason Johnstone-Yellin who are both highly regarded in the whisky industry for their palates and podcast, One Nation Under Whisky.

Taste
  • Vatting of two casks, both distilled at Inchgower in November 2011 and December 2011
  • Casks #813820 & 813822
  • Casks aged separately, one in a refill bourbon barrel and one in a 1st-fill Oloroso hogshead; married and bottled in October 2022

Brand Tasting Notes: A soft yet focused nose of barley sugar, dried apricot, orange blossom honey, and dried tobacco leads to an oily opening palate of licorice and fondant sweetness. All gives way to cigar box and ground ginger spice before finishing with drying oak and earthiness.

Inchgower is commonly experienced as the primary component in the popular Bell’s blended Scotch—single malt bottlings from this distillery are a limited few. This double-cask blend deftly harnesses Inchgower’s spicy earthiness with Oloroso depth.
