The Silkies of the Donegal coast are mythical shapeshifters who shed their sealskin coats to become irresistibly enchanting sea maidens with long dark hair and beautiful voices. This fairly new Irish Distillery is in the north-western of Ireland, in Donegal. Silkie is the brand name, The Ardara is the distillery name and all are under the umbrella of Sliabh Liag Distillers.

Taste

The Midnight Silkie is the smokiest of Silkies yet! It is a blend of four unique, triple-distilled, unpeated single malts and one triple-distilled peated single malt. They are married and then finished in virgin American oak and Imperial Stout casks.

Brand Tasting Notes: A heady smoke aroma, elegantly balanced with sweet notes of pear and peach. Richer notes of oak and sandalwood, hints of sherry, and the chocolate creaminess of the imperial stout casks shine through on the palate.
