Description
Samaroli began in 1968 as one of the earliest independent whisky bottlers and the first non-English and non-Scottish-based brands. It is named after Silvano Samaroli who got his start in import and working at a wine & spirits merchant. Known for extremely high-quality releases, Samaroli is coveted as one of the top independent bottlers to this day, even after Silvano’s passing in 2017. Based out of Rome, Italy, they stay true to their Italian roots with unorthodox flair when choosing what to bottle.
Taste
Blended Scotch Components
- 1 cask of Tomintoul 2017 in a refill Bourbon hogshead
- 1 cask of North British 2012 (Grain whisky) in a Sherry butt
Brand Tasting Notes: Upon nosing, it delivers a shocking aroma, fruity and delicate. On the palate, it offers a magnificent combination of flowers, sweet fruits, dried fruits, toasted nuts, cereals, and sweet spices. The fragrance of the Scottish fields gracefully merges with the mischievous sherry notes.
Holly’s Tasting Notes: Warms sweetness, lemon vanilla cookie wafer, some butter-soft figs on the palate.
