Description
Redbreast Whiskey is named after the bird Robin Redbreast. This is the only bird that sings continuously throughout the dark, Irish winters and is one of the very few small birds that chooses to winter in Ireland. Redbreast has become one of the most iconic, traditional, pot-still-style whiskeys to come out of Ireland. All versions of Redbreast are made in the “Irish Pot Still” way, meaning they use malted and unmalted barley. Their whiskeys are also triple distilled. This is produced at Midleton Distillery outside of Cork, Ireland where they also produce Jameson, Powers, the Spot Whiskeys, and Method & Madness.
Taste
This is a pot still Irish Whiskey which means it is made out of malted and unmalted barley giving it a nice spicy, silky quality. This release has been matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks.
Brand Tasting Notes: On the nose is complex, spicy, fruity aromas with toasted wood notes. The palate is full-flavored and complex, silky smooth with a harmonious balance of spicy, fruity, sherry, and toasted notes. The finish is satisfyingly long and lingers.
