Rare Character is a new brand founded in 2021 by Pablo Moix and Peter Nevenglosky. In 2022, their team was joined by Andy Shapira as well, who worked and grew up within the Heaven Hill Distillery family business. They purchase and bottle casks from all over North America, including Bourbon, Rye, and American Whiskeys.

The first blend that’s truly, exactly by volume, 50% KY and 50% IN rye whiskies with two different low rye mash bills.
Brand Tasting Notes: Aromas on the nose begin with slight touches of pine, zesty citrus such as orange and grapefruit, with dark notes of brown sugar, maple, charred oak, and hints of clove tobacco. Notes of various baking spices like allspice and nutmeg, keep the profile spice forward while sweeter notes of vanilla cake batter and maple lend to a longer, yet deeper nose rich profile. Something you could sniff all day like a candle. The forward of the palate begins with sweeter, more decadent notes of rich vanilla, caramel, and barrel-aged maple syrup. Leather, dried tobacco, and toasted oak give way to more decadence before introducing light nutmeg, clove, dark brown sugar, and light graham cracker. As the palate progresses, freshly baked rye bread with a slight burnt flavor and buttery caramel make way, rounding out the palate with a slightly savory rye profile.
