Description
Raising Glasses is a new independent bottler of Scotch, Rum, and other spirits. Lorri and John, the founders and husband and wife team, have collected Scotch Whisky for many decades. Their well-developed palates have taken them to this new and exciting world of picking their own casks and bottling them under their “Raising Glasses” label. They are about sharing good bottles and want to raise a glass with you! Holly has also been friends with them for quite some time as they were customers of hers when she worked in Boston. Good people and good whisky ( and rum); what more can you ask for?
Taste
Founded in 2011 in Ipswich, MA by Andrew Cabot, the namesake and direct descendant of an American patriot, privateer, and rum-maker Andrew Cabot (1750-1791). New England’s North Atlantic Maritime climate lends a unique flavor profile for their spirits. Privateer does not use sweetening, coloring, flavoring, or thickening agents.
Privateer’s Queen’s Share Rum is made using the traditional Cognac technique of redistilling the distillate between the rich hearts and bitter tails. The result is a spirit of outstanding quality, deep complexity, and exceptional character.
First matured by Privateer in oak for 1 year and 1 month, then transferred to an ex-Bourbon barrel from Newport, Kentucky (New Riff) for 3 years and 11 months
Made out of Molasses | Pot Distilled
Brand Tasting Notes: Fragrant peach, buttery toffee, and gentle leather.
