The brand is named after the port village of Port Askaig nestled on the north coast of Islay. The village has been the gateway to Islay for hundreds of years; for many, it is the start of a journey that will stay with them for a lifetime. The Port Askaig whiskies are from an undisclosed Islay Single Malt Scotch Distillery and blended/bottled by London-based Elixir Distillers, founded in 2008. The Elixir Distillers group was founded by Sukhinder Singh, who started the iconic online retailer The Whisky Exchange.
Taste
Brand Tasting Notes: A nose of wet hay, cinnamon, nutmeg, and corn silk tea evolves into creamy tapioca pudding with a few drops of water. A sweet and starchy palate brings to mind paw paw and grilled corn husk with a bright fruitiness and a pleasantly waxy mouthfeel. Bold peat is the platform throughout for an array of charred culinary associations.
