Description

This Icons of Wales release is rooted in 11th-century mythology with stories that feature strong woman characters and who other than Rhiannon. A horse goddess who could outrun anyone who pursued her. She was intelligent, generous, strong-willed, and otherworldly. She used magic to get rid of suitors and survived magical thunderstorms. In Welsh, Rhiannon means Great Queen or Divine Queen. This release is named after her and we are all fans of the Fleetwood Mac song, so a win-win!

Distilling in Wales was a lost art but in the late 1990s, a group of friends started chatting about a new distillery while sipping beers at a pub. The village of Penderyn was chosen because of the natural spring water and the first whisky was released in 2004. They have now expanded with a new distillery that was built in the Spring of 2021 in Llandudno North Wales and another distillery is planned for Swansea.
