Description

The core range of Douglas Laing includes the Remarkable Regional Malts: The Epicurean (Lowland), Timorous Beastie (Highland), Scallywag (Speyside), The Gauldrons (Campbeltown), Rock Island (Islands), as well as Big Peat from Islay. They also bottle single casks such as the Old Particular and Xtra Old Particular bottlings.

Douglas Laing owns Strathearn in Perthshire which was acquired in 2019 and planning to build a new distillery in Glasgow.

Taste

There are only two distilleries on Orkney so you decide whether this bottling is Highland Park or Scapa! We feel it is Highland Park.

The nose is full of sea air and sweet barley, plus oceanic qualities with toffee and lemon zest. The taste is decadent and full of warm fudge, vanilla pastries, caramel chews, and melted butter. The finish is a perfect marriage of maritime flavors, sea salt, and a warming nutmeg spice.
