Old Carter is the passion project of Mark Carter, whose beverage industry roots trace back to an award-winning career in the California wine business. In 2011, Mark resurrected the long-dormant bourbon brand, Kentucky Owl, with the Dedman family. Kentucky Owl was sold in 2017, and that’s when Old Carter Whiskey Co. was born.

Headquartered in Louisville, the Old Carter team produces Straight Ryes, Bourbons, and American Whiskies in locations throughout the U.S. Each bottle is personally crafted by Mark Carter, who creates every blend and selects every single barrel program release.
