Description
Prohibition Craft Spirits Distilling Company, the Louisville-based producers of NULU and Hazelbaker whiskeys, debuts its single barrel collection under the name “New Louisville Whiskey Co.”. These barrels are earmarked in the warehouse for this exclusive, private barrel label that features bourbons bottled at peak maturity with a minimum eight years of age.
Taste
– Selected by the Skurnik Spirits, the distributor of Nulu and New Louisville Whiskey Co.
– Barrel number C480
– Mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley
– Distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana
A portion of the maturation took place at PCS Distilling’s warehouse where the barrel was heat-cycled, introducing temperature variation to raise proof and viscosity.
Brand Tasting Notes: It opens with rich notes of burnt sugar, toffee, and toasted spice, wrapped in a buttery, full-bodied texture. The palate is intense but balanced, with layers of dark caramel, leather, and baking spice. A long, dry finish lingers with oak tannin and just enough heat to keep things lively.
