Description

Lost Lantern is a Vermont-based independent bottler of American whiskey, founded by Nora Ganley-Roper and Adam Polonski. Inspired by the long tradition of Scotch independent bottlers, the two spent more than a year criss-crossing the United States—visiting distilleries, meeting craft distillers, and sourcing exceptional casks.

Since launching its first releases in late 2020, Lost Lantern has earned wide acclaim: in 2023, it was named Independent Bottler of the Year at the Global Icons of Whisky Awards. Based in Vergennes, Vermont, Lost Lantern bottles both single casks and small-batch blends from more than 30 distilleries across 20+ states, always emphasizing transparency about the origin, age, proof, and distillery source.

Taste

New York Distilling Co, one of the country’s first urban distilleries and part of the first wave of distilleries in the Empire State, has long been on the vanguard of rye whiskey. They were the first rye whiskey distillery we ever worked with, and we are proud to once again shine a light on one of the most unique types of whiskey they produce.

For this special release, we created a unique marriage of three different 7-year old rye whiskeys that were finished in New York Apple Brandy barrels. The result is spice and sweetness in perfect balance.

Brand Tasting Notes: The nose has notes of fresh apples, rye spice, and black liquorice. The palate bursts with notes of cinnamon applesauce, fresh apple pie, warm oak, and wintergreen mint. Leading into a spicy and peppery finish.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Pop rocks, rock candy, orange sea salt, and salt water taffy. The palate has tons of candied rye spice, earthy with figs, a buttery texture, followed by fig jam and butter on toast.
