Description

Lost Lantern is a Vermont-based independent bottler of American whiskey, founded by Nora Ganley-Roper and Adam Polonski. Inspired by the long tradition of Scotch independent bottlers, the two spent more than a year criss-crossing the United States—visiting distilleries, meeting craft distillers, and sourcing exceptional casks.

Since launching its first releases in late 2020, Lost Lantern has earned wide acclaim: in 2023, it was named Independent Bottler of the Year at the Global Icons of Whisky Awards. Based in Vergennes, Vermont, Lost Lantern bottles both single casks and small-batch blends from more than 30 distilleries across 20+ states, always emphasizing transparency about the origin, age, proof, and distillery source.

Taste

A hazmat Idaho bourbon exclusive to New York and Massachusetts. One of the oldest whiskies ever released from Idaho, made at a now-closed distillery, acquired and further aged by Day’s Defile in Shelley, Idaho. Named for famous trapper John Day and the narrow gorges that scour Idaho’s mountains.

Mashbill: 74% Corn, 6% Wheat, 6% Triticale, 14% Malted Barley

Brand Tasting Notes: French vanilla, black cherry, intense oak, clove and nutmeg.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Burnt cocoa, banana walnut bread. The palate has tons of gummy tar, charred marshmallows and cherry pastries.
