Lochlea is an independent, family-owned distillery in the heart of the Ayrshire, Scotland. We grow our own barley, distill our unique spirit and mature all of our casks on site. We are focused on crafting an outstanding whisky for everyone to enjoy. Our local ingredients, process and maturation combine to offer a distinctive style of Scotch Whisky that we love, and hope you will too.
Taste
Our seasonal small batch releases showcase our whisky in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in with exactly what is happening here at Lochlea. In this Sowing Edition for 2022, we have used 100% fresh 1st-fill ex-Bourbon barrels. Spring on the farm is when everything bursts into life, we start preparing the ground and sowing the new crop of barley. So we created a whisky to reflect this vibrant atmosphere, that highlights ripe green apples, pears and raspberries, warm shortbread and finishing with fresh floral notes.
