The newest release of Bottled-in-Bond is precisely that confluence of rarity and excellence. Now with a 6-year age statement, and pulled from a much smaller inventory of stock, this is increasingly a celebration whiskey—to be enjoyed at the very best moments of life. Distilled in the spring of 2015, the 10th batch of Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon is the first to be composed entirely of whiskey aged in large-format 30- and 53-gallon barrels, and, fittingly also the first Bottled-in-Bond to be age-stated six years. In constructing this blend of 11 barrels, stock was pulled from both the rickhouse-like climate of our Navy Yard aging room as well as the more temperate environment of an additional Brooklyn warehouse.
A nose of mature oak, lanolin, and vanilla cream lead to a palate of soft caramel chew, toasted cinnamon bark, and rum-soaked raisin—a balanced profile showcasing the most refined small blend of superlative barrels from the warehouse.
