Description

Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grassroots tradition of farm distilling. Their 100% Islay range represents the revival of these traditions, standing alone as Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky. They do everything on-site, even their own maltings.

Taste

2022 Edition matured exclusively in Oloroso Sherry Butts that previously matured Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin for a minimum of 8 years. This release is a vatting of 22 casks, 20 first fill butts, and 2 refill butts. All of the barley comes from Islay.

The name Loch Gorm comes from the peaty, dark loch that is overlooked by the distillery.

Brand Tasting Notes: Fresh maritime smoke, dried raisins, toasted orange peel, and cloves. The palate is rich dark chocolate, mixed spices, and dried fruits accompanied by subtle warming peat smoke, sweet tobacco, roasted walnuts, and hints of caramel. The finish is long with cinnamon spice, fresh fruits, and peat smoke.
