Description

Journeyman offers an extensive portfolio of handcrafted artisan spirits that have a true sense of place or ‘terroir.’  They are grain to bottle and utilize all locally sourced Midwest organic grains and use unfiltered/untreated water from an underground aquifer, in a tiny, one-stoplight town of Three Oaks, Michigan.

Journeyman Distillery is located in an 1800s corset and buggy whip factory. Once a dry town, they felt the distillery was the perfect addition. Every July they have their annual corset, whips, and whiskey event.

BRAND STORY TOLD BY JOURNEYMAN
Distilling Bourbon is classically American, which is why we named this whiskey Featherbone Bourbon after the innovative product once manufactured in this building a century ago at a time when manufacturing in Michigan was synonymous with American-made. The Featherbone was a revolutionary product created and manufactured in Three Oaks by E.K. Warren, a staunch prohibitionist. Today, we create quite a different kind of Featherbone at Journeyman and find it ironic to be operating a grain-to-bottle distillery in this once “dry” community. We hope that E.K. would find it in good spirits to see us carrying the torch for manufacturing into the 21st century.

Mashbill: 70% organic corn / 25% organic wheat / 5% organic rye
