James Eadie Benrinnes 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch

James Eadie is an independent bottler of single malt and blended Scotch whisky. James Eadie has a long and rich history of making blended Scotch Whisky and even had his own brewery in 1854. His blended Scotch is called “X”. His great-great grandson, Rupert Patrick decided to revive his blended Scotch and also started bottling single malts. He tracked down Mr. Eadie’s ledgers and was able to recreate the blend. Norman Mathison is now their blender.

Benrinnes Distillery is owned by Diageo, most of the production at Benrinnes goes into blended whiskies such as Johnnie Walker, J&B, and Crawford’s 3 Star. Most of the Benrinnes single malt is released through independent bottlings, with the only official single malt being the Flora and Fauna 15-year-old. They are a distillery that still utilizes worm tub condensers which tend to give the whisky a heavier weight and mouthfeel.
