The legend of Ingelred is over a thousand years old. The Ingelred sword combined the best of two worlds: from India the materials and advanced knowledge to make high carbon steel, and from the North the exceptional skills of a Viking blacksmith. Ingelred Whisky is owned by three old friends, wanting to create an individual bottler specializing in producing uniquely-matured whisky. Ingelred Whisky brings together the craftsmanship of a Scottish whisky distillery with Nordic innovation.

Founded in 1825 near Fort William in the Highlands of Scotland, this distillery is known to produce a very chewy, rich textured whisky. The washbacks are wooden and, more significantly, brewer’s yeast is used, making this the last distillery in Scotland to insist on this old way of inducing fermentation. Distillation is slow and steady, giving a rich, deep distillate.

This whisky was distilled in December 2003 and bottled in August 2021.
