Kiuchi Sake Brewery celebrates its 200th anniversary of brewing sake with a new attempt, Hinomaru Whiskey. Using a portion of barley, wheat, and rice from Ibaraki Prefecture, several types of undiluted whiskey distilled at the column-type still Nukata Distillery and the pot-still Yachigo Distillery were aged in nature at the eastern foot of Mount Tsukuba.
This release is matured in Sherry & Bourbon casks. Made out of malt, wheat, and rice.
Holly’s Tasting Notes: Juicy and bright with pears, melon, honeydew, and butter. The palate has more fruit and spice.
