Description
Since 1865 Glenfarclas has been owned and managed by just one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas. To this day Glenfarclas is one of only a few distilleries in Scotland to remain family-owned and managed. Now in the hands of the sixth generation of the family, the Grants are known for making a classic, sherried, Speyside style whisky.
Taste
The story goes that in 1968, George S. Grant decided to bottle a cask of Glenfarclas at natural cask strength as a Christmas gift for family and friends. The strength of that cask was 105° Brtish Proof. Now to continue the legacy, they select some of the finest casks and vat them together to make the iconic “105”.
Brand Tasting Notes: The nose is complex with oaky, apples, pears and a tempting dark toffee sweetness. The palate is assertive and develops quickly to reveal a rich spiciness combined with a hint of oak and sherried fruit. The finish is wonderfully warming and lingers with spice.
