Description

Brothers John and James Grant joined forces to build what was then a massive distillery in 1839. They were also well aware that their new, large-scale distillery would fail if transport links were not established. It was thanks to them that a rail line was built from Lossiemouth to Elgin and brought travel and independence to this region.

The distillery continued to grow and would eventually comprise not just a distillery but a huge greenhouse and extensive gardens. Their Master Distiller is Dennis Malcolm who is the longest-serving distiller in Scotland. This distillery is owned by Campari.

Taste

This 18YR release from Glen Grant has won multiple awards over the years including Jim Murray’s Best Single Malt Scotch of the Year.

Brand Tasting Notes: Rich and floral, with oaky overtones and hints of spice. Malty caramel, dried raisins, and vanilla. A finish that is long and sweet with nuts and spice.
