Garrison Brothers ‘Balmorhea’ Texas Bourbon

Texas is now a very important state for the craft whiskey distillery scene and Garrison Brothers is a major part of that. They were the first legal whiskey distillery in Texas. Located in Hye, Texas, their summers can reach up to 130 degrees. After many lost barrels of whiskey, they now make custom barrels with thicker staves than usual to withstand the brutal temperature swings. Apparently, four years in Texas is said to equate 23 years of maturation in Kentucky.
