Fukano Distillery has been making spirits in Japan since 1823. Shigeruriku Fukano is the fifth generation of his family to run the distillery, located in Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture of Japan, a few towns away from Ohishi Distillery and, consequently, the Kuma River supplies the water for both distilleries. Fukano bottles a variety of rice-based whisky expressions that have a minerality and texture we have come to know and love.
Japanese whisky distilled from rice. Aged 10 years in a combination of new and refilled American and European Oak casks. Distilled from a combination of local grown malted and unmalted rice fermented with koji and distilled on a stainless steel pot still. Butterscotch, coconut and lychee coat the palate, with a finish of candied apple.
