Flatnose Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Ketill Flatnose was a Viking king who ruled the Isles of Scotland in the late 9th century. A formidable seafaring warrior, he commanded the rugged western seaboard of Scotland. His legacy lived on through the Celtic lords of the Isles, who later ruled from their stronghold on Islay. This rich history holds deep meaning for the “Islay Boys”—Donald MacKenzie and Mackay Smith—both born and raised on Islay, the island famed for its world-renowned whisky. Known for their independent bottlings, including the Flatnose label, MacKenzie and Smith have now partnered with Ian Macleod Distillers to build Islay’s 12th distillery: Laggan Bay, slated for completion in 2025.
