Description

Eifel began in 2008 and is based in the Eifel region of Germany which is northwest of Frankfurt, right on the Belgium border. Founded by husband and wife duo Stephen and Carolin. Stephen was a wine importer and distributor for over 30 years in Germany and wanted to make his own spirit. Only small amounts of their releases are allocated to the US market. 

Taste

This is the 2021 Edition. 90% German Rye / 10% Malted Barley

5YRS old matured in a mixture of Virgin Oak, First Fill Bordeaux, and First Fill Malaga Casks. The previous 2019 German Rye release was only 4 years old.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Peanut brittle, herbal with lemon and dill. The palate has more sweetness with oak spice, cherries and tobacco.
