Description

With nearly two decades in the alcohol industry, Director of Malts Danny Saltman was keen to bring something new to the market. Driven to develop an exceptional collection of whiskies, Danny has traveled the length of Scotland to match choice Scotch Whiskies with hand-chosen casks.

As an independent bottler with a dedication to craftsmanship, each cask has been hand-selected based on its unique appearance, aroma, and flavor. The casks have then been individually paired with a complimentary wine or port finish, giving each dram its own special character.

Taste

Distilled November 2008 / Bottled July 2021 / Cask #1801470 / Matured in a Hogshead and then finished in a Bordeaux Barrique

Tasting Notes from the Brand:

Nose: Sweet toffee, icing sugar, small gentle oak, and herbal mintiness on the back
Palate: Cinnamon oats with chunks of white chocolate, with a pinch of spicy red wine
Finish: A pinch of aniseed, wrapping into a long-lasting dram

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Red Velvet Cake with vanilla frosting, red berries, and cola. Dashes of baking spice and dehydrated oranges throughout the nose.  The palate is rich and brighter than the nose. I am getting more of those classic nutty and malty notes from Blair Athol Distillery upfront on the palate followed by dehydrated figs and strawberries with dark chocolate and cinnamon spice. The finish is rich, long, and dry.
