Description

Distiller’s Art is a single cask range of bottlings released by Hunter Laing. Hunter Laing was founded in Glasgow, similar to the Douglas Laing story and became their own entity in 2013. They are behind other great bottlings such as Old Malt Cask and Old & Rare. They also are the owners of the new Islay distillery, Ardnahoe.

Benrinnes is in the heart of the Speyside region of Scotland and is known for a heavier, meatier style of whisky. Not dissimilar to Craigellachie and they did share an owner at one point. Both distilleries have worm tub condensers which means less copper contact during distillation.

Taste

Distilled in November of 2010 and bottled in 2018.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Apples, pears, and honeysuckle! So much rich, juicy fruit. A dash of warm, oak spice and apple cider on the nose. The palate continues with the stone fruit and also has a nice burnt apple pie and roasted nut flavor. Really great flavors on this one. A bold Speyside.
