Daftmill 2010 12YR Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch

Daftmill Distillery is a small, family-run Lowland Scotch whisky distillery located on a working farm in the Howe of Fife. Owned by the Cuthbert family, who have farmed the land for generations, the distillery was created when brothers Francis and Ian Cuthbert converted old mill buildings on the estate into a whisky operation in the early 2000s. After receiving a distilling license in 2005, production began later that year, with the unique approach of using barley grown entirely on the farm and water sourced from a natural spring on the property.

What sets Daftmill apart is its traditional, small-scale and seasonal production model. Distillation only takes place during quieter farming periods—typically summer and winter—resulting in extremely limited output each year. Rather than rushing product to market, the distillery chose to age its whisky for over a decade before releasing its first bottling in 2018, emphasizing patience and quality over volume. Today, Daftmill is regarded as one of Scotland’s smallest and most distinctive distilleries, known for its “farm-to-bottle” philosophy and highly sought-after, limited releases.
