Description

The independent bottling brands “Cree” and “Creetown Distillers” come from the folks at the Whisky Broker Ltd. Company. Founded in 2010 by Martin Armstrong, the brand is named after their location in Creetown, Scotland. The name of the town and the brand come from the River Cree that runs through it. They are about two hours south of Glasgow, right on the water looking out to the Irish Sea and the Isle of Man. They began modestly and have grown to now have their own warehouses and over 20 people on their team.

Taste

Cask #316194 | Distilled on September 15th, 2014, and filled in an Ex-Bourbon Hogshead. Transferred into a Reschke Winery Coonawarra Region Australian Cabernet Wine Barrique on December 15th, 2021. Bottled March 23rd, 2023

Benrinnes is a Speyside Single Malt distillery owned by Diageo and not released as a standalone single malt. It is a worm tub distillery, which means it has less copper contact in the condensers. It is known for a heavier fruit quality because of this.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Plum syrup, dark chocolate, just a touch of barnyard and hay mixed in with the thick berry sweetness. The palate is silky with raspberries, blackberries, and prunes. The finish has some cocoa powder and a bit of baking spice.
