Wm Cadenhead’s Ltd is Scotland’s oldest independent bottler, founded in 1842 but moved to Campbeltown in the 1970s. Cadenhead’s specializes in bottling single-cask or small-batch whisky, gin, rum, cognac, and other spirits from across all of Scotland and the rest of the world. They are under the same ownership as Springbank and Kilkerran Distillery in Campbeltown.
Taste
This whisky was first re-racked into Port Casks in August of 2020 and left for about two years. After that, they then re-racked into refill Bourbon barrels in October 2022 and bottled in September 2023.
Based in Alves, Moray, Glenburgie Distillery was founded in 1810 and most of the spirit produced is used for blends. Glenburgie’s spirit is grassy and has “outdoorsy” notes. It’s sweet and has a slight oiliness too.
Brand Tasting Notes: The nose has raspberry ripple ice cream, lychee, and chocolate coffee sweets. The palate has juicy dates, red cherries, and hints of cedar wood and pine shavings. The finish has dried raisins, walnuts, and peanut butter.
