Description

Old Bushmills Distillery is located right beside the River Bush on Northern Ireland’s rugged north coast. Bushmills claims the title of the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, operating under a royal license granted in 1608, with the formal company established in 1784. Over centuries, it has stayed true to crafting single malt whiskey from 100% malted barley, triple-distilling in copper pot stills, and using water drawn from Saint Columb’s Rill. The distillery was rebuilt after a destructive fire in 1885 and remarkably persevered through such upheavals as Prohibition, once sending its largest ever shipment to the U.S. upon repeal.

Now owned by Proximo Spirits, Bushmills produces a range of global whiskies, such as blended staples like Original and Black Bush to single malts aged 10, 12, 16, and 21 years, plus rare limited editions.
