Breckenridge Distillery was founded in 2008 and is the “World’s Highest Distillery” and yes, think of Breckenridge Ski Resort! They became well known for their bourbon which is a high-rye mash bill. They have won multiple awards over the past decade including the Icons of Whisky Award from The World Whiskey Awards in 2018. In December 2021 they were purchased by a Canadian pharmaceutical and cannabis company named Tilray so it should be interesting to see what is released next!

Batch #2 | Two iconic ski-town companies, Breckenridge Distillery and Breckenridge Brewery teamed up to make Buddy Pass. This is a barrel-exchange program where Breckenridge Distillery has finished its American Whiskey in a Breckenridge Brewery Stout Barrel. Collaborations like this are so rare because of the short window of time when it’s possible to refill the whiskey barrels after the beer has aged in them. Things can go off with those beer barrels very quickly.

Brand Tasting Notes: Cinnamon and oak develop on the nose with a light background of fresh orange zest and chocolate. Smooth abundant caramel and dark chocolate hit the palate first as a dry matured oak and bold cinnamon spice follow and ride out for a long dry, spicy finish.
