ASW Distillery is a craft whiskey producer based in Atlanta, Georgia, founded by friends Jim Chasteen and Charlie Thompson, who shared an interest in whiskey while attending college in the state. They began developing recipes and building the brand before officially opening their distillery in 2016 in a renovated industrial space. This made ASW one of the first licensed distilleries in Atlanta since Prohibition. The team later expanded with the addition of Master Distiller Justin Manglitz, who helped shape the production approach and broaden the whiskey lineup.

The distillery focuses on small-batch production using copper pot stills and combines traditional techniques with modern innovation. ASW produces a range of spirits including bourbon, rye, American single malt, and double malt whiskey, often incorporating locally sourced Georgia grains and ingredients. The brand is also known for its “grain-in” fermentation method and for producing one of the first modern-era single malts distilled in Atlanta. Its Duality Double Malt Whiskey helped put the distillery on the map after earning a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, highlighting ASW as a rising whiskey producer in the Southeast.
