Description

Ardnamurchan is steeped in rural, coastal woods on a peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland and has stayed true to its natural roots. All the power and heat requirements for the distillery come from local renewables. They have a biomass boiler and hydroelectricity generator that are both fueled by woodchip from the local forestry. They want as little of a footprint as possible. A truly beautiful and remote distillery owned by Adelphi, the independent bottler. Ardnamurchan translates to “Headland of the Great Seas”.

Taste

Cask Strength Release ‘02.22’

– 87% peated and 13% unpeated malted barley

– Aged in ex-bourbon (90%) and ex-sherry (10%) casks

Brand Tasting Notes: A nose of peaches and spicy tajin, tapioca, and marzipan lead to a spiky midpalate of charred campfire wood and hickory-smoked bacon with a surprisingly soft finish of lingering smoke and saline.
