Description

Ardnamurchan is steeped in rural, coastal woods on a peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland and has stayed true to its natural roots. All the power and heat requirements for the distillery come from local renewables. They have a biomass boiler and hydroelectricity generator that are both fueled by woodchip from the local forestry. They want as little of a footprint as possible. A truly beautiful and remote distillery owned by Adelphi, the independent bottler. Ardnamurchan translates to “Headland of the Great Seas”.

Taste

Brand Tasting Notes: Smores by a campfire on a pebbled Ardnamurchan beach. Orange oil and popcorn. The palate is orange marmalade and dark chocolate. Smoldering charred marshmallows and sea salt.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Chocolate malt ball, vanilla wafers, and sweet peat smoke. Lemon and more peat and earth on the palate.
